Pineapples Color Pink
Pineapples Color Pink empowers young women ages 11-18 to lead the fight against period poverty through five core pillars: STEM initiatives that build scientific literacy, reproductive health ADVOCACY that amplifies youth voices, community TRANSPARENCY that breaks stigmas, research INNOVATION that advances understanding, and REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE policy that creates systemic change.
Our name, Pineapples Color Pink, carries deep meaning that reflects our comprehensive mission. Pineapples, a historic symbol of fertility and abundance, represent our commitment to reproductive health and the flourishing potential of young women. "Color" stands in the gap for women of color, acknowledging the disproportionate impact of reproductive health disparities on communities of color and our commitment to centering their voices and experiences in our work. Pink symbolizes our fight against the pink tax—the discriminatory pricing that makes period products financially inaccessible to many.
